The Production Specialist is trained in and responsible for all aspects of the production cycle. Daily duties could include tasks in packaging of dry and liquid chemicals and fibrous materials, kit assembly and quality control checks on products. It is the responsibility of the Production Specialist to follow all established SOPs and fulfill orders according to the production schedule. Shift hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Essential Functions & Duties
As a member of the Production team, this position may perform one or more of the following tasks on a given shift:
- Assemble kits in accordance with SOPs
- Transfers bulk dry and liquid chemicals to retail packaging and updates batch records to ensure proper volumes prior to sealing
- Ensures required materials and equipment are in stock, cleaned, calibrated, and ready to use when needed
- Performs quality control checks to ensure product consistency
- Adheres to proper chemical gowning protocol in accordance with SOPs
- Verifies integrity of orders through visual inspection, notifying management of any concerns
- Participates in daily cleaning routine of production workspace
- Responsible for proper labeling and storage of finished products
- Maintains production equipment and solves mechanical issues
The Production Specialist performs a wide variety of tasks related to Packaging, Shipping, Receiving and the Inventory of products
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of applicable experience
- Strong communicator; able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Prior Forklift Experience or Certification Preferred
Physical Demands:
Medium work: Employee may, or may not, have a dedication workstation. Time spent conducting sedentary work is less than 25%. Requires walking, standing and/or driving for more than 75% of the workday. Lifting 70 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Position requires good hand dexterity and vision. Work environment includes dry-controlled chemical processing room.
